The FAQ or Frequently Asked Questions section is designed to provide you with short but detailed answers to the most common questions about our services, experience, terms of delivery, prices, transport service, team members, etc.
What type of services do you provide?
Islandpic.com provides photo and video services on the island of Madeira and Porto Santo. Photo services and video services can be booked separately. However, if you order both photo and video, we can provide a discount.
What is your experience?
Out of more than 15 years in photography and videography, we have worked in Madeira since 2015, taking photos and videos of weddings, engagements, proposals, love story photography and videography, destination weddings, family events, commercial and advertising photos and videos, and many more. We have professional video and photo equipment (including the latest generation drone) that helps us to deliver images and videos with the best quality possible.
How quickly do you deliver photos and videos?
Proposal photos — next day. Sessions — 7–10 days. Films — 14–21 days. Weddings — up to 4 weeks in high season. Want a sneak peek? Just ask — I’ll send 5 of the best photos within 24 hours, free of charge.
How do you deliver photos and videos?
You receive images and videos via a Google Drive link. The link is active for 2 weeks after the date of the delivery, so you have plenty of time to download your photos and videos. Wedding images and videos can be delivered on a crafted wooden memory stick.
How much does a photo session cost?
The starting rate is €240 per hour, but our multi-hour packages offer significantly better value — the more time you book, the more you save.

What if the weather is bad?
I track the island’s microclimates and follow the light — Madeira almost always has a sunny side. If the forecast is truly bad, we simply move the session: another location, another time, or another day within your stay, at no extra cost.
How do you stay hidden during a secret proposal?
After a decade and hundreds of proposals on this island, I know every spot’s hiding places better than I know my own pockets — which rock to stand behind, which trail looks like a tourist path, where a man with a camera is invisible because everyone there has a camera. I blend in as just another visitor photographing the landscape, and by the time you go down on one knee, I’ve already been quietly photographing you for several minutes without anyone noticing.

Do you have transport?
Yes, we have a car. For an additional 60€, we can pick you up & drop you off.
Do you charge extra for relocation?
We work on the island of Madeira and provide photo and video services in any location on the island without extra cost. We can go to the island of Porto Santo with the additional charge of the regular cost of public transport. However, if you need to propose on a very remote part of Madeira (far West or high in the mountains), we may apply a small surcharge of 40€.
Do you have a drone?
Yes, we have a latest-generation drone and an experienced pilot who can fly it under the most challenging weather conditions.
Do you charge extra for drone imagery?
Drone imagery is included in some packages; for other sessions it’s available as an add-on (+90 €), weather permitting.
Can you provide a contract and financial/accounting documents?
Yes. Contracts are a must in wedding photography. Invoices are made after every payment for services.
Will you share our photos on social media or your website?
Your photos belong to your story first. I love showing my work — it’s how future couples find me — but I never share anything without your consent.
How much in advance do I need to book your service?
As we have some reservations for 1-1.5 years in advance, it is recommended to contact us and book your date as early as possible. Ask us for available dates, and we will reply within 24 hours.
Do you charge any booking fee?
Yes — a deposit reserves your date and is deducted from the final payment: 100 € for standard sessions, 200 € for half-day experiences and weddings.
When do I need to pay for the photos/video?
The final payment must be made on the day of the photo or video session.
How many people are there in your team?
I photograph every session personally; for weddings, I bring a second shooter/videographer, if needed.
Do you provide raw images of the photo/video session?
Sorry, no – for ethical and copyright reasons.
I want to book your service. How can I do it?
Contact us to check if the date you want for the photo or video session is available. If yes, we will discuss all the details and can arrange a meeting in Funchal or other places in Madeira to talk face to face and have all the things clarified and agreed upon.
